Book 2 News!
Hey there!
It’s been a few months since my last newsletter, so wanted to update those of you who’ve subscribed with what I’ve been up to lately.
This last week, I unveiled the cover for Book 2 of the Aardon Chronicles: The Ashes of Ignis! This sequel takes everything from the first book and ramps it up—more magic, more conflict, more emotion. I’m very excited to share it with the world on Sept. 19 (I can’t believe that’s only two months away).
If you haven’t seen it yet, here is the cover and blurb for The Ashes of Ignis:

After narrowly escaping demise in the Earth realm, Aardon seems like a much safer option, but again, not everything is at is seems.
Strife for power is ongoing and tensions are high between the mages of Aardon and the newly returned ones from Simmerton, while the rightful leadership of Eldur is being disputed.
Marko’s resolve is tested yet again, as he sets out to befriend a mysterious yet powerful druid, whose unique ability could unlock the answer to reopening the portal and stabilising the tensions on Aardon.
Will Marko be able to unite all the mages and prevent the brewing war?
In my next newsletter, I hope to be able to share preorder links, but for now if you have any questions about The Ashes of Ignis, jot them down and join me for a launch party livestream the evening of the 19th (more details to come) where I’ll give away a copy or two, answer questions, and chat for an hour or so.
Thank you as always for the continued support. I hope those who enjoyed my first book will love this just as much.
With that, I’ll leave you with a teaser from Chapter 1 of Book 2:
Marko Fember could only describe the feeling of tumbling through a magical portal between realms as the nauseating sensation of falling endlessly in a dream.
He wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but it felt like too long. For a moment he considered he’d died and this was his journey to the afterlife. Perhaps nothing that happened up to this point was real and he was finally waking up from a long nightmare.
But then he heard a voice shout, “Someone’s coming through!”
There was a blinding light and Marko was flung into the ground hard with a groan. He dusted red powder out of his dark, messy hair and stared up at a blurry mass of colors. His eyes gradually adjusted until he recognized the faces of his friends and family.
Have a wonderful day,
Matthew J. Stott
